Re: Django IRC & sqlite3 .schema

Hi Dorian,

To join the #django channel on freenode you need to use a nick that has been registered with NickServ [1]

For your real question, how are you unsuccessful in running that command ? Can you please give a bit more info on what you're doing ? Is there any error output etc.

Cheers

Hi. I have some issues here which I'm hoping you will be able to help me with,

Firstly, I tried to get into the Django IRC @freenote.net but I get the message:  #Django Cannot join channel (+r) - you need to be identified with services.

Secondly(and the reason I wanted to enter the IRC on this occasion), I am trying to follow the instruction: "If you're interested, run the command-line client for your database and type \dt (PostgreSQL),SHOW TABLES; (MySQL), or .schema (SQLite) to display the tables Django created." - from https://docs.djangoproject.com/en/1.4/intro/tutorial01/#database-setup
I've been unsuccessful in following this instruction, and I've tried to google search the problem and have come up with some pages(e.g. http://curioushq.blogspot.co.uk/2011/05/django-tutorial.html) but I've still been unsuccessful even when following the adjusted advice given to several other answer seekers.
I'm asking about sqlite3 here because I'm using the copy which came with Django and following the instructions from the djangoprojects tutorial.

I already completed the tutorial but I'm going through it again and being more thorough. I have some other questions to ask regarding the construction of Django pages, but I'll just try my luck with this for now and leave that for another post.

Cheers.
