You can inheriant of AbstractBaseUser and define your field:
from django.contrib.auth.models import AbstractBaseUser
class MyCustomUser(AbstractBaseUser):
mail = models.EmailField(max_lenght=254)
REQUIRED_FIELDS = ['mail']
