@ Venkatraman, and @kenneth - thanks gentlemen. I am trying out easy_thumbnail as it looks light enough for my needs. django-photologue looks great too, although I suspect it is a much more full-fledged solution?
I will look at it if need be.

Not sure. But the code is a good one to start off for the OP and get some ideas on
how images and thumbnails can be handled..
