working with images in django

Hello, can anyone suggest where I might find some of example of working with images in django.  I want to store them and pull them into text documents, about one every couple of paragraphs.  I am finding a lot of posts on this site about the img class but most of them seem to address very specific problems.  I am looking more for a beginners how to do it discussion or tutorial.
