Help on ForeignKey across databases

Hello,

I am currently working on a project on which we access two different
databases.
One is a legacy database used by another application, the second being the
django dedicated db.
For some reason, I need to have model links (FK) from the django db to
legacy one but for consistency reasons, this is not possible out of the
box.
I searched a bit and saw that routers *may* solve this.

It is not very clear to me so I'd like confirmations or not about my
guesses.

Are ForeignKey possible across databases through a router and esp. the
allow_relation method ?
If yes, will I be able to construct queries just like if we were on the
same database ?
