This is a mailing list -- you don't need to post the same text just
to address each individual responder you had.

I've only got Win7 Home Premium, 64-bit, on this laptop (if I hadn't
been laid off, this spring would have been the year of the desktop, with
Win7 Pro). Nonetheless 4GB of RAM seems on the small side for 64-bit
Windows, especially when running an alternate OS in a virtualization
system -- even if the Linux variants aren't as memory hungry as Windows.

Open the task manager (Windows side) and check the performance tab.
My system has grabbed over 2GB (of the 8GB I ordered on the machine) and
all I have running (besides the normal system background stuff) is
Firefox, Eudora, and Agent. Granted, I /think/ the biggest chunk of RAM
is tied up in the video system -- this Dell appears to have both an
nVidia chip-set (with memory) and the Intel chip-set integrated video
(using system RAM) AND seems to dynamically allocate applications to
graphics chips based on needs (text applications tend to run in the
integrated chips; 3D/gaming apps on the nVidia).

As mentioned, you don't need to duplicate the full text for each
such person. At worst, if someone needs to find the information they
should be able to track back to a copy of the message.
